Many people go several years with out a visit to the
dentist's office, but imagine going your whole life with out ever
seeing a dentist. That was the reality of the people living along the
Rio Negro.
Since the opening of the Bob Borland Dental Clinic, we have given
communities along the middle Rio Negro an opportunity they otherwise
would never have had. Our clinic is
staffed by volunteer dentists who spend part of their time working on
people and
the rest fishing for peacock bass. These trips are offered at half price with the money donated to the foundation. Our
clinic is well equipped with the only x-ray machine in the middle
Rio Negro region, and all the necessary equipment for
routine dental work. This is thanks to the generous donations of
others, but much is still needed to continue operating through out the year. With your help we can continue
offering free dental work to those in need. |
